I have no problem with people smoking weed. Go for it, enlighten yourself. Don't screw around with any Mexican dirt weed, get some real stuff, Humboldt grown, purple tinged green bud. But, not till they have a ready, quick and accurate test for driving under the effect. Sounds fair, don't it? I know, when your stoned, you are the safest person on the road. You'll wait till the entire road is clear before you'll pull out. Blah blah blah... Well, maybe, you won't get outta the friggin' way when you should!! If you use the base of your discussion on how it relates to the 1920's ban of alcohol, I'll listen. Great point, and very true. Make it legal and get rid of the crime, I'm down with that. There just has to be a way to test for it for those who are irresponsible.
I just wonder how long it will take Colorado to realize what they have done. It took the pussified North Coast of Cali till now to figure it out. What they called "compasinate use" was taken over by people growing to make profit. Then the hippies got pissed seeing people driving Dodge PU trucks, jacked up, chromed out with a diesel tank in the back and Bob Marley stickers on the rear window. If I may paraphrase for them, "Dude, not cool"! And could you believe, it brought a criminal element into the mix!!???

Wait and see, wait and see.

Well I personally don't smoke. I'm just against prohibition. I'm also against the tremendous fiscal and social cost involved in trying harder and harder to force something to work that hasn't, won't, and can't possibly.

How messed up is that?
Wow - that's actually a great idea. Now you'll have to lobby the government and have them break-up the monopoly. Uh - good luck with that lol. Seems illegal to me but still... that's one way of doing it. Wow.

    Default Legalize Pot... ?

Unfortunately they've been smart enough to avoid that problem: they allowed the country club and the VFW to acquire them. That's it though...damn educated repressers...

I used to say hell no, do not legalize it.
Now that i am a home owner, older and know more about taxes, i say please do legalize!
If you can show me that you will use the tax dollars to subsidize something i already pay, i.e. property tax, LEGALIZE AND TAX that stuff man.
FYI, i am not a current user. The last time i smoked was may 16 2007

Subsidies wouldn't be routed to personal taxes. Likely candidates for mj taxes are education, infrastructure, etc...

Years ago, Oregon had a bill to vote on. It would legalize the growth and use of a said number of plants to be used, per the permit holder. Along with it, the permit was to be purchased from the State and along with the passing of the bill, laws would be increased for sales and posesson by those under the age of 18. The monies spent on the permit would go to school programs to educate the Utes of the State of the evils of substance abuse, the rest of the money would go to programs to those with substance abuse problems. They shot it down. They need to do something, quit beating the dead horse. As soon as I take over, as Supreme Ruler of the World, I will address this matter, till then, I have things to do.

Wouldn't you know it? The damn BIA screwed things up, once more! I guess the State had reservations about it...
