Suredge
Of all the razors, I own, a Robison Suredge has eluded me. Nice blades are hard to find and the enduring reputation had me outbid constantly. I did snag some Suredge scales a few years back, in rough shape. Finally I found an affordable blade which, while not perfect, was not too bad and had an unusual grind.
Everything was rusty, scratched, pitted, and well, you know!
I did not do much to the front of the blade as it has a neat (light) etch of "New Science Concave and two hands pointing fingers down at the double-grind!
The scales needed lots of sanding/micromesh and I repainted the orange with a Sharpie oil based, filled in the reliefs with silver sharpie afterwards using a 'paint and rub technique. TONS of work on them
Did my best on the blade and blued the tang/spine, filled the stamps with my oil-based enamel Sharpie and pinned it with vintage silver stacked collars. It honed up very nicely and shaves SUPER!
I like the way it turned out. Was a fun project!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Stellar job on the razor. I especially like how the red-orange lettering contacts with the blued tang.

Thanks, Wullie! Shaves a treat!
I appreciate that, Dave!
Well, to be honest, Steve, a Filly 14 moved out of my rotation to make room for it!
Thanks! I thought same! It looks lots better than my cruddy pics!
Thanks, Glen. I agree on the grind. I have a Cattaraugus with the same grind. For some reason, they shave differently than anything else. In a good way . I think George Korn Patent ?"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Beautiful job, and I don't recall ever seeing that grind before. I've got one Robeson. It is one of those "The Razor That Fits Your Face." Was in good shape and honed up to be a great shaver. Robeson was also connected with the Case family, by marriage or some such IIRC. They also made some very collectible pocket knives.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 4827It's the details that put that one way ahead. Apparently Glen has been the one pushing them out of your reach.
