    Default Wade & Butchered...

I had a nice old W&B, Celebrated Fine India Steel.

Shave was always close and smooth, gotta love Sheffield steel.... but the razor lacked a certain *something*. I was shining it up and about to put it up on the BST block, when all of sudden I found a dremel in my hand....

    Ahhhhh....now that feels better!

Need to scare up some scales now....

Now you've gone that far you may as well send it out to Chandler or one of the other machine shop guys and get it reground to get rid of all that hone wear.

I guess I'll be the lone voice of descent. I think it's sad. the thumb notch I could take, looks good. but to do the rest of it to a w&b india steel marked blade.....man, that breaks my razor loving heart.

Yeah, it's not one for the traditionalists out there!

And, as far as hone wear goes, yes it ceratinly has plenty of that going on, but it also has pleny of wedgey beef to back it up, so I'm not gonna sweat it for at least another 100 years or so on this razor...

You know, you can take things too far! I've enjoyed seeing your modifications & I guess it's most important that you like it that way, but in this particular case, i'm with Red. It's like vandalism!

Edit: Just realised that it sounds like i'm getting really worked up about it. I'm not, just so you know!

I respect the big guy's thoughts, but I think it's awesome. If you ever get sick of looking at it, you can send it my way!
