Over the weekend, I met a descendant of Erik the Red.
What a timely razor!
Good stuff, my friend :

Wow. This razor screams confidence that it is here to do a job. Unapologetic details rounds out it's spiky package well.
I'd say it has a silhouette of a Viking Warship also. Nice companion to Ironside.

That is beautiful. I love the departure from the standard blade shape.

Thanked: 1371Cool razor.
The runes aren't that hard to figure out: "RC Allman SS" (I'm not sure what the S's are for?) "OCD Razors"
Of course if you were to translate the runes you'd end up with something that makes no sense... For awhile I was really interested in the Kensington Runestone, and spent some time trying to learn to read them. There are a lot of subtleties, and confusing things about runes... The ones that your alphabet is made from are mostly common.
(I am no expert on this, but I have a dictionary handy, so for fun)
R - raido - wagon, chariot - has to do with travel
C - kenaz - torch, wisdom or learning
A - ansuz - God, divinity
L - laguz - water, sea
M - mannaz - man, person, or humanity
N - gebo - trade or gift, exchange
O - othala - home, property, or nobility
D - dagaz - day, dawn
Z - algiz - shield, protection, sanctuary
S - sowelu - the sun
Maybe something about a viking travelling over the sea to meet God and receive a gift of knowledge. (raido could be a ship, it just refers to a means of transport)(front scale)
Then he returns home, over the sea, the next day at dawn well protected by his new wisdom. (rear scale)
Edit: Aw shoot. I was looking at my dictionary more, it's been awhile... Even though they have individual meanings, runes are supposed to be interepreted as letters. That kind of ruins my story.Last edited by HNSB; 01-25-2011 at 09:30 PM.
Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

That may be the coolest razor I have ever seen. I don't know what else to say.
