Well, bocote threw me another curveball today!

This one is just held together with microfasteners at the moment as it's between coats of tung oil, but the wedge is bocote. So compare the wedge here:

Three completely different looks from the same kind of wood, with two of them coming from the same piece! I love this stuff.

BTW, I know those are brutal pins in my second pic, but it was my first attempt at pinning on my very first restore way back when. I still need to go back and re-do them.
