Great Job! I know you have many, many tedious hours in it and it shows. I am impressed you pinned it up collarless after all that! Love it!

You did a really nice job on that razor. It's always incredible to me when someone brings an old razor back for use after so many years. Let us know how it shaves.

Thanked: 5When I first started using a straight, I had bought several ivory scaled razors that always needed tighening at the pivot. After breaking several while attempting to tighten the pivot, there was a long moratorium on using any ivory scaled razors. I finally did learn to tighten them reasonably well. I don't understand why they were all made without collars. would have been so much easier. I need to try your method on some broken ones I have . You got very good results.

I honed this razor up this morning and got a really lovely, smooth shave off it. Need to work on the point a bit, since I noticed late in the process that I needed to roll the pressure over that rounded part near the end of the blade, but even with that it was a joy to use.
