At one time the Hudson Bay Company sold jackets like that made from their blankets.

You can still find them, search "Capote Coat" they are crazy expensive, of course this one was pretty pricey even back then Originally Posted by BobH

Yes, the Capote Coat is different from the Mackinaw Coat though. I was surprised the Mackinaw Coat first appeared at the start of the War of 1812. Quite a long and interesting history for the HBC point blanket coats. Originally Posted by gssixgun
