    Here you go Mick,
Poor Man's phone case - plain old Kydex. Easier and quicker than leather for those of us less talented.
Took the back off an old phone case to use the belt clip. Swivels out of the way. Open top lets me attach headphones to listen to my tunes.
yeah - it is big. That is a Samsung Note i got about 18 months ago. It is my phone and computer in one. 3.5 by 5.75 inches. Lined with felt to protect the phone from scratches.
One day i will go back to leatherwork and get some skills.

I've never worked with Kydex. Always wanted to have a go though. One of these days I will. Thanks for sharing Adam. I believe in functional first and foremost myself. It has to do the job, and that looks to do the job just fine.

I was thinking about this bag and wondering what your opinion is after a few months.

My time tested opinion is that it could have been smaller to better suit it's main purpose as an everyday satchel. It's a bit on the heavy side as well, but I can live with that for the most part. Having said that it has proven to be a good weekend away bag, holding everything I need with a bit of room to spare.

Other issues are design faults from lack of knowledge/skills on my part. The handle needed to be further towards the back. The lid could have been shorter by 6" and the straps could have done with keepers, for no other reason than that I discovered that keepers serve the secondary purpose of preventing the straps to come undone accidentally.
Internally, I would place some closure system (strap and buckle/press studs etc.) on the main sections internal pocket, as the weight of the tools I have in pouches on the front of that, pull it open and throw their weight forward.
These design faults are fixable of course, but I just haven't bothered to worry about it. If I do go to the effort I will take my main strap closures off and put some heavier straps on in their place.

My general thoughts are that this bag is quite useful, but has stopped being used as a daily carry bag due to it's size. Perhaps the addition of side compression straps would be something to consider in any future modifications. This way I could keep my weekend bag trait and have a daily carry bag that doesn't clean up some passing gran-ma's walking stick in the shopping centre as I pass.

Thanks. Well, they are inspired by sporans, but we use them for bushcraft. Mostly as a small possibles bag or fire/first aid kit.
