Yes I have. Depending in the size of the garden and how deep you push in the tines, it kills the back. I had to use one down the isles and weed as a kid. Hated it!

About those worms, dont tell but I stop by the local fish bait store and drop them in every season, How many worms do you see in your ground while tilling?
Oh and after I put in the worms, darn birds seem to know and camp out in my garden for the next week. The Garden battles never end
I dont till but once a year. In the fall after frost bacteria is dormant at that time.Manure put down then as well.
Your only as good as your last hone job.

We don't really have a down time here in Texas, but I did uncover my beds last weekend to work in some compost! I didn't plant anything yet, but will soon.

Maybe I should have taken your hint and made a snare I could have had a well fed healthy deer

We made a veggie patch but because we have bats and hares and insects and bush turkeys we decided to enclose it. The netting is hail netting - just protective only, no sun shading happens with it. We made two raised beds out of iron from an old garden shed we had laying around down the back.

We've planted carrots and beetroot and kale, beans, peas, spinach, rhubarb, and various other stuffs like coriander and bok choi etc.

    Photo taken with phone, sorry.
