I decided to let the peppers go another week, but it is, Monday. So heres my first picking of peppers.
These should hold about a pound of stuffing a piece.

Thanked: 13245We are getting down to it now,,,
Tarps are in the equation starting after tonight,,,
Sunflowers: are well over 12 ft tall yet the actual "Flowers" will never make it to us getting seeds
Large pumpkins: were pretty disappointing pretty small and nowhere near as many as the first year we grew them..
Small pumpkins: Were a huge success and the wife is happily getting them in for Fall decorations
English Cucumbers: were a moderate success, and we learned later in the season to let them climb rather then crawl, but damn they taste great
Spinach: was a good producer most of the Summer and we enjoyed it in our salads
Beans: Were a great producer and we will grow way more in future seasons
Golden Sun Tomatoes: Awesome simply awesome we will always have them from now on
Romas: We are hoping the ripen before the frost gets them
Amish Paste: OMG they are so good but again we are hoping more ripen before the hard frost
Purple Mini Peppers: WOW, explosive flavor
We also grew Genuine Walla Walla Onions that Roy aka Cudarunner sent up last years and were pleasantly surprised with the yield, very very tasty, obviously they are smaller then if they were grown in the warmth of Wa Wa Wa but dang they taste good ...
Everything will be torn out/down and put away for winter on Oct 1st
I will dump in Manure and Peat Moss to cover over the entire garden over the Winter..
Hope everyone else had a good season, some of the pics are just incredible

I was just through Walla Walla and northeast Oregon a few weeks ago. Fun to see the thick carpets of onions!

Might want to wait till first hard frost to pull the plug on the garden. Just saying, weird weather patterns and all. Unless your already consistently in the 40s at night.
If you pull your Romas and hang them upside down in the shed they will continue to grow and ripen. Old farmer trick, life is still in the vine. Plus a brown paper bag once they stop will turn em red, put a banana in with the green maters if you have to. Taste still will beat store bought.Last edited by ultrasoundguy2003; 09-14-2015 at 12:55 AM.

Many roots taste better after they freeze in the ground.
