Thread: Anyone else an Air Gun shooter?

I have a RAW HM1000x in .25, Cricket Bullpup in .22, FWB P44 10 meter pistol, HW95L in .20 and an Air Arms TX200 MK3. I like competition shooting, plinking and pest

Yep, serious high power competitor, bought a Walther air rifle (scuba gun) at Camp Perry 12 years ago, shoot it in my house. Really improves high power technique, especially off-hand. And operating costs are next to nothing.

Will be, I,m going to be waging war on critters against my yard and garden, and the neighborhood is nit happy about guns going off early in the morning, so silent and deadly once I figure out which rifle will do the job. Tc

I shoot High Power in the UK. Air rifle practice is beneficial because the pellet take longer to exit the barrel than a live round and is less forgiving of poor technique.

Welswizard you are right, it's all about technique when it comes to air guns. Powder burners often have a hard time adjusting to air power, especially "Springers".

I have a springer RWS in .22. Love it but it does take a light touch to shoot. I really want an fx at some point.

Your RWS should have an adjustable trigger. A light trigger pull is fine for benchrest and other competition shooting but could be dangerous on a hunt.

Roger that. I have had much more success since switching pellets. Funny the RWS pellets did not shoot very good...go figure. The trigger is set pretty nice and soft right now which is ok for me. (I am use to sniper and competition rifles) I see you are from Arizona..I think that is where the US vendor for FX Guns is. I want a PCP bad but my razor addiction keeps cutting into my budget.

I miss read your post. Yes a light hold is necessary for shooting springers. It takes some time getting a feel for it. Airguns of Arizona is only a 2 hour drive from where I live.

Yes springers are a beast unto their own. Luckily I had very good powder burn rifle instruction. They really stressed follow thru (light hold, two sight pictures, trigger reset) just great habits that have worked well for me. Airguns of Arizona was the shop I was thinking of. Everytime I get on their website I just drool. Nice range btw. Beautiful backdrop!
