What defensive round do you carry?
For years I carried Federal Hydra Shoks. Just switched over to Federal HST, 230 +P in .45 and 147 in 9mm. Both fed flawless in both carry guns, a Springfield XDS .45 and a Springfield XDSC in 9.
Did a lot of reading and settled on these due to the tests and reviews.

Thanked: 101I carry FMJ ball in my KelTec and Diamondback .380s and FMJ ball also in my 1911. I want them all to feed and function and also to penetrate.

Thanked: 3215It is shot placement, not bullet design, that is effective. Gun rags and bullet manufactures have made fortunes selling bullets, with photos of shooting watermelons, water jugs and blocks of gelatin.
Alternating ball with any quality hollow point ammo is a good practice for maximum penetration and energy transmission. If you hit a vital area, bullet design does not matter.

Thanked: 237I mostly use Hornady defense rounds for my .45. However, I reload, so it really is a matter of what ever I feel like pushing through the press and loading up.
