Thanked: 4206Shaun knows our climate. 1" irrigation coils that were used to aid in pool heating.
The pool has 2" circulation lines, so I ran 600' in two parallel 300' lengths of 1" dia black coils up on the roof. Gained quite a few degrees in the sunshine. Taking it all down as there are new shingles and eaves being installed before fall gets to far out of hand. Possibly will reinstall them at ground level, or maybe not at all.
And sure, it looks big, but don't forget, everything is metric up here so it's really quite small, har.

Thanked: 4206And John, neat idea on Erin's tunes. I wonder if the YouTube audio police would say her stuff is copyrighted? Some of it's never been recorded.
Might have to ask her to lend me some for future flights.

Well, all BS aside, I think it's wonderful. You have enough natural growth to use and create cool gardens and spaces.
Just think! You can create a monster which will consume you!
Could be worse? Eh?
I am thinking a shop out back and a driveway around?

While I can't say that it's a FACT I worked with a guy who did some really nice professional photography (he was a Marine Photographer in Nam) and he told me that his daughter had said that she was going to offer a picture for sale on the internet. He told me that she'd already posted it at FaceBook and since she had and she hadn't read the Fine Print that once posted at FaceBook that picture belonged to them.
Just what I was told. Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdin’s cave of 'stuff'.

Thanked: 4206Thanks Tom.
You are so right about the natural growth. It has been a monster which I am trying to pull into order.
That shredded pop up garage thing is sitting where the shop will eventually go, I hope. And I plan to cut new stairs into the hill that goes to the upper level and build them out of flagstone.
That, the new patio up top, fire pit and perimeter lighting should add to the value, and enjoyment of the entire space.
Tough on the back all the slugging can be, but I keep telling myself, 'take your time, this is not on the clock work'.
Ibuprofen and bourbon are my friends this fall, hehehe."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Thanked: 4206Got my low voltage lighting installed and wired up around the new retaining wall and stairs tonight.
Repurposed some I still had, and purchased new ones for the top of the stairs.
Was very important that the stairs be lit from above, but I didn't want it shining in the eyes. Replaced all the incandescent bulbs with t10 car dashboard leds from china that throw a nice white light. I read they don't attract bugs like incandescent bulbs do, hence the switch. Saving 80% of the power is pretty cool too.
The pool light I retrofitted myself as the pool didn't have one when we moved in. It too is low voltage led, but designed for an above ground pool as a surface mount lamp. I figured a way to mount it to a s.s. Strip of steel and run it down off my side weir Hardware. Fits tight to the pool and has been there for 5years now. Changes colour, or can be fixed at any one you choose.
Pretty stoked about how it's all working out. And weather like tonight has me sitting by the pool drinking bourbon and having a 'gar.

Thanked: 4826Maybe the Ontario gator is like a salimander in that they are freeze thaw stable and do not need to winter in Florida like many eastern Canadians.
