Sorry. It's dark when I leave in the morning and nearly dark when I get home. Everything looks good. I saw no frost on my car windshield so we dodged another bullet. The leaves on one of my heirloom tomato plants looked a little funky last night. I will take another look this evening. I think we are good to go!

Belated update. Looks like a delayed reaction. Couple of dead/dying bell paper plants and a couple of the cukes don't look so good. I'll replace them this weekend. Looks like the cold is finally over. I will be little more patient next year.
Did get some okra started last weekend and some of the tomatoes already have blooms. Broccoli already has buds.

I have heard about hearing the corn grow but not experienced it in person. Tonight I was sitting on my back steps and hear the Lillies of the Valley grow. It is a crackle that might be from them growing through last years leaves and trash.... I also see a night crawler in the picture that I didn't see in person.
Seriously it is not a loud sound but sitting quietly from 2 feet away I can hear it.
My brother and my wife think I am nuts and my wife won't go sit on the sidewalk with me to provew it to her but she is half deaf or more anyway.

While I've never heard of hearing corn grow I have heard of being able to hear Bamboo grow.
Also my father used to say that on a nice warm day you could 'watch' asparagus grow. Well I was young and didn't have the time to 'watch' so when I got to work in the asparagus field I stuck a stick with a mark that was level with the tip of a spear of asparagus.
Four hours later at lunch time you could see that the asparagus had indeed grown. If memory serves it was about a 1/2 an inch. Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

Plants are amazing. I wish I had more time for them.
I have a very old Benjamin Ficus in the office.
I come in and open the blinds and turn on the lights. A LED spot is right above it.
You can see the leaves move. Pretty cool!

Thanked: 13246Got back home from a 2 week trip in Colorado late Wed night
Finally caught up on rest yesterday and fired up the Rototiller this morning..
Gotta say this is the 5th year for most of this garden and it was MUCH easier to get it ready for June 1st planting day..
No grinding away at tuff spots and clumps, just one slow run and I have a minimum of 9-12inches of soft native soil ready to go
Still, have to get the Cultivator over to "Glen's Near Acre" and get that ready
Planting, then the Fences go up"No amount of money spent on a Stone can ever replace the value of the time it takes learning to use it properly"
Very Respectfully - Glen

Looking good Glen.
How high is your fencing to keep the critters out?Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

My reason for asking is that I recently helped an old friend install 5' high and 16' long horse panels around her little garden at her home in town. The deer had eaten every thing she'd tried to grow the last couple of years with the exception of onions.
I'm sure that if they were hungry enough that they will jump the fence but hopefully there will be easier pickings elsewhere. Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.
