Thanked: 4206I’m trying to get the car to the point I can hit them at 70,m again, heheh.
Although to be honest, I’ve yet to hit a one. I can’t speak for the previous 2 owners though.
Had her up to temp in the garage last night and further checking for drips led me to retorque the oil filter assy hardware as there were a few drips coming down the side again. Seems these Brit’s do love to seep, more than just a cute rumor or catch phrase.
This weekend is all about getting yard winter ready. Realize as I get older that sooner is better when it comes to yard clean up. Always sux after it gets cold and the leaves start to drop.
Have a good weekend lads!"Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Thanked: 4206Wanted to do this for a while so picked up a fire ring and set it into the upper deck patio.
Will really extend the evening outdoor comfort.
I’ll surround and build up the outside with a rock ring to blend into the deck, but the galvanized steel ring sure throws out the heat!"Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

It looks funky, but the best one I have experienced was an old washer drum with all the perforations.
If you get air in, it will fire-up. I guess some rocks around that would work. If it smokes too much, consider a few holes around the base
Nothing like a fire on a brisk night!

Thanked: 4206Old washer drum, hell what a neat idea. I was considering some vent hole around the base but the test fire lit right up without them and without significant smoke.
Once I select the perimeter rocks I might still add some @ 90’ points anyway fir drainage.
The ring's 24” diameter as it stands, but once the stones added, it’ll net out around 30” finished diameter. Plus the rocks will hold and throw the heat of the fire.
Large enough fir the area without being too big a pit.

Thanked: 4206A manhole casting,, that’s be a great pit too!
So I was able to find a shorter velocity stack for the Mikuni’s, but of course only in anodized blue. Which I tried to remove best I could.
And while I’m not keen on the colour variance decided to see if the bonnet would fit.
Happily, it does clear it.
Now to test clearances under operating loads and ensure it remains contact free.
Looks less racy perhaps, but classier fulliy cowled I think.
Cheers gents, hope you had a productive weekend."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Bead-blast, sand and polish, Mike. OR bead blast both and clear them.
Got some bug/rock screens at least?

Thanked: 4206Bead blast them both, with what kinda bead? Good idea.
And yup, there are screens fitted between the stacks and the carbs, just can’t see em in that shot.
They are a fine mesh steel screen of 50 microns. Use them at work in plastic dies. Keep out everything I dare say.

Oh, Glass bead media will give them a uniform texture and will get the blue off. Sand will do same.
Whatever is in the cabinet at work!
