It would be very cool if you did a video of the startup and a walk-around.

Thanked: 4206Not a bad idea at all gents,,,,
Think I’ll get out the tripod for it so if I need to grab the extinguisher I have free hands, hehehe."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Thanked: 4206A bunch of you gents have been pivotal in this build.
Gives me destinations for down the road as far as road trips to come say thanks.
And I am working on my shifter idea today, part time at work. Using the tools as required to come up with my initial trial shifter. Needs to be in before the final carpet and shift boot design can be done..
Stay tuned..

Thanked: 4206Ok, so here is what I came up with.
It works, but it’s too long and can be shortened.
The shift throw changes to more angled.
It’s not a significantly longer throw since I’ve grabbed the shift at the base, and there will be a cross piece at the top creating a triangle of sorts for added rigidity.
I’d prefer to go back a few steps and make a tie rod work as in that video, but I’m not sure if the angled shift will bug me or not.
And really, if I do nothing I can reach the shifter still as it sits, just need to reach forward a wee bit..
Think I’ll decide once I get things done..if I do need to modify the tunnel and center strip, it’ll be a stand alone project that won’t impact to much else, down the road..
Cheers."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Well. It's a shifter!
The side-to side action might be tough. Maybe make the part above the bend taller for leverage?
I guess you will see. A nice shifter is mighty important in these little bugs.
