And strengthened the foam with some extra wadding from the underside.

And also added a top layer over the heat pad after all.

Restapled everything slightly, but not overly more taut so not to split things open

The back was original still, and even had the 70 year old Rexine covering.

Plywood surprisingly intact, so I just sealed the plywood on the outside surface, and accessed the lower area enough to slip my heat pads up and into position.

Drew everything taught again and restapled.

Seats have new heaters installed and are test fit, in car!
Really pleased with how the seat base profiles came out. Was worth doing that wet curve work. A bunch of extra steps and skills needed to keep it looking, and feeling correct.

Shown in the most rearward position and damn if it isn’t to far back to reach the peddles now! Kinda awesome that I’ll actually need to adjust the seat forward to drive. Finally, leg room and the seats feel totally refreshed and firm again, but not too hard. And I cannot detect any interference or wrinkles from the heat pads.
Basically just the lower sound pad, carpets, and door locks still to be installed and I can move on to fuel system.
Then exterior panels and final cut and polish.
I’ve decided the rag top will wait. Focus is on drive ability as I really want to drive her again,!!
    Another productive weekend up north.
    Cheers gents.

This thread has been real fun. Its brought back a lot of memories of all the cars my dad restored. Especially the vintage MGs and jags he did.

    Rock on, Mike. !

When are you projecting to having a finished product? Just curious, no pressure....

I’m within weeks of being able to start it, having done everything but the fuel system so far and have a goal of running by end of May.
Driving shortly thereafter if all checks out.
