A good bottle of scotch isn't aged over night, either.

Been the longest project I’ve ever worked on now..
But if you look at it, it is actually a bunch of shorter projects put together.

Further tweaks of the rear panels to make things fit perfectly and some more adhesive as required.

With the goal being that the piping, then panel profile all align with but sit slightly proud or below respectively of the body lines, as such.

Now I’m working on the side screen box at the rear of the car. Also from scratch as there wasn’t one in the car as purchased..
But gettin closer lads and being more careful as more final surfaces are being installed.
Also can se my brake booster location and why I’ve only got 2” for that lower storage box, it’s the thickness of my frame basically.

Back boot area just about done now.
Ran out of upholstery adhesive before I could finish the new storage bin, but you can see how it’s coming along.

Goin with carpeting on the floor of the boot, whereas originally it was bare painted wood. And going with the same black felt on the underside of the lower box and neoprene on the floor of the box.
Still need to paint my seat back brackets, they are just there for hoke sizing and test fitting.
Tomorrow onto the seat work, then they can get installed and I can actually sit in the car again.
My tentative goal is to be running by May 24!

Covers themselves aren’t torn so I’m trying to save them, but the wood and some of the underpaid needs an upgrade.

Seat box is a two parter so back to the hardware store tomorrow, and maybe the fabric store for some new batting and foam too.

I may be a philistine, but do they make seats from more modern materials that look like the original seats?

The kits available at MOSS are still wood and eggshell foam bases, but the wrap around foam is all new, synthetic materials, no longer horsehair..
Knowing that I figure I might get lucky at my local upholstery shop.
The wood wasn’t treated, mine will be, so that’s a big difference in longevity.
I’m just trying to decide if the new seat heater should go directly against the underside of the seat, or have a layer of batting between them.
They are basically electric blankets so I figure I should be safe but they are kinda stiff too, so I don’t want to feel them either.

Still freaks me out that 70 year old screws unscrew with the right bit and force!

And I need to soak the bolster boards a few hours to bend them to the required curve.

Tomorrow, once the bolsters are dry, I should be able to seal them ands build the seat bases, then move on to the backrest.
    Cheers.
