Thanked: 4206Had to do a little smithwork and stretch out my throttle linkage due to the new carbs.
Didn’t lose much thickness since I worked the sides into the middle as I drew, drawd it out by almost 2”
Twill be mounted lower of course but will connect, via linkage to this side of the rear carb and drive both.
Should work a treat, needed it narrower to allow a full 90’ arc through the firewall to ensure full throttle response. And by making the arm longer, I gained increased vertical throw in relation to the throttle shaft rotation! That means less peddle travel basically or a more responsive peddle.
And before I can close up the boot and rear of the interior I need to cut in the new storage I created under the floor.
Ends up 23x18” and 2” deep. Enough for the tonneau I hope.
Will keep the back nice and clean to look at, once carpeted. Still need hinges, hatch lock, and repaint etc..

only 2" deep? I know what your putting in there isn't much but that is not much room.

Thanked: 4206Another milestone today as I reconnected the linkage and tested the throw, from the cabin, of the new gas peddle.
Stole the smaller carb linkage arm from the SU’s to tighten things up even more and she seems to react quiet well.
And even in normal shoes I can shift now, or thing I will be able to, when the time comes.
So before it gets much warmer, I’m finishing off the wood for the back this weekend, an epoxying them.
Did the final shaping on car to ensure accuracy of fit and transitions.
These three will be wrapped in vinyl before install and will have the convertible top connected to them"Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Thanked: 4206Worked on the upholstery in the back today.
Started with neoprene rubber sound padding, then the actual felt underlay. Note the wood I popped into the steel between the two steps. Will give me something to staple the final edge of the vinyl to when installing the carpet.
Then the vinyl gets added, working out the wrinkles and only using adhesive along the edges so things can float.
The rear wood trimming was a bitch as I had to start the vinyl from under and clamp them to a board so I could simulate in position. Then when I put them on the car the vinyl really got in the way of the wood screws but it worked out.
Thenf had to work out the wrinkles and pleats as they all came together.
Now I’m working on the sides of the car but running out of steam and am calling it a good weekends works.
Hope y’all had a good weekend gents. Those that celebrated Easter with family, those like me, in the shop and with family in between.
Cheers."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."
