I'm not a gearhead, but I certainly can see a huge difference between factory vs aftermarket. So will this work on modern day cars with fuel injection?

I expect they make something for most anything popular. The digital stuff now days makes it adjustable in many ways far above my pay grade. The older analog ones are nothing new. I worked on a big, bad '67 Rocket Olds back in the 70's that had a cd box on the inner fender. Obviously had a big capacitor. Was not hooked up so I guess it died?
Always intrigued me. If I had known then what I know now the 1st mod I would do to any healthy oldie would be MSD.
Without good ignition, other changes cannot be felt, IMO
Anyhoo.....Back to the old half-wooden car!

Thanked: 4207All good reading for old car buff’s so no worries adding content Tom, et al’. Still filing the lid on the tool box anyway.
Gaps looked horrible as I got close to calling it done so I made a new mid hinge piece.
It has to be square or what’s the point of putting the lid back on? Would scream home repair.

Thanked: 4207This is how I should have done it the first time.
As I drill the holes, add cleco’s and location marks to ensure accuracy.
Use edge cleco’s until I have holes captured as I copy across the panels.
And things worked out well.
When both sides are open, which will never happpen once the bonnets on, if I did things right the doors edges should be pretty parallel.
And as they say, that’ll do just fine..
Add this to the ready to prime section.

I watch a guy's YouTube channel and he's a wizard with rusted automotive sheet metal repair. In one of his video's he showed the 'Clenco' method of temporarily attaching sheet metal.
I thought that might help Mike on his MG project. -------------I was a few months and years too late as he already knew about them--Oh Well.
Here's how they work- no need to watch the entire video

Thanked: 4207Also got the busted remains out of the headlight brackets safely so I can use a couple shoulder bolts to replace the mounting posts that secure them to the fenders.
These were a bitch to mill as they are not flat on top, and being cast, hollow, and irreplaceable I was very timid, hehe. Hollow so the headlight wiring can travel through the middle into the fender without being seen.
5/16 shoulder bolt with a 1/4” nut fits the treat. Just need to cut off the heads and braise them into place.
Then leave a little braise bubble on top to blend in before paint.
