Thanked: 4206Tried a little loose fit before I rebuild the back side of the panels and happy with how things are aligning.
Can see in the last pic where the panel no longer meets the slot it’s supposed to in the upper right corner of the image. Hence why I’m remaking the back of each,, as well as the rear panel itsel that goes between these along the back. Only off by a little, but with the rust along the lips anyway, just makes sense.

I picked up a dB tester just to see how loud things are here at the Boars Nest. I live on a pretty quiet street and with no cars going by and just the computer running it's about 40 dB.
My conventional twin V puts out 94 at the source and 87 15 feet away with the metal garage door closed. With the door open and 15 feet away it dropped to 84 so not the quietest around but not bad. Ski's diaphragm compressor is my next test as there is no way two people can have any conversation when it's running.
NOW--With the Harley idling with the door open and the tester at rider's ear height it runs between 94-97 and with a bump of the throttle it jumps to about 109-112 but I only used the tester for a couple of moments.
Anyway glad to know that so far you are getting enough CFP to run your air tools. If the paint sprayer draws too much air you might be able to run your old and new compressors together to get enough CFP.Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

Thanked: 4206Metal work continues. Rebuilding the back corners.
Nice contouring.
And yet another obscure part purchased that was no longer on the car, but will be again.
R/hand tie rod to keep the body connected to the frame squarely..
Kinda important that. Will go well with the newly found adapter it connects too.
Onward, ever closer."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Thanked: 4206Was a hectic but good week at work so I took today off to get some noisy panel beating done.
Used the old quarter as the bending anvil and hoped if I took my time it wouldn’t buckle from the hammer blows. Supported the crap out of it and spent hours at the hammers on each side.
When I’d get to a crease, I’d take it to the anvil and beat it smooth, then use the shrinker on the crease, where it got thin, I’d use the stretcher, put it back on, repeat the hammering, repeat the stretching or shrinking as required. Was an all day project..
Patience pays though. And a mighty sore set of hands and wrists later..
Still need to plenish hammer, and smooth them, but they will totally work. Can stitch them into the original panels on the weekend and maybe get the entire quarters back in shape.
Time to take my medicine though, with pizza..
Cheers men."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Nice day's work Mike
Your 'medication' looks similar to what a guy who used to do cast iron cooking on PBS or some other station calls 'Cooks Oil'. He's a retired Idaho State Game Warden who also cooked for Elk Camps, White Water Rafting etc.
Here's a pic of part of what his basic Cook Box should include:

Thanked: 4206Little more progress on the rears.
Pleased with the fit.
And how things are lining up for later.
Stitched together and ready to cut and butt. But think I’m done for what’s rest of the night.
Been a productive weekend.
Lots to juggle bringing this many pieces back together true and all.

Thanked: 4206Or maybe I’ll go ahead and stitch one together since I’m kinda eager to keep moving.
Profile was matched pretty good. Now to slowly fill it all in without warping anything.
Cheers."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Go slow, keep switching locations until you have it all filled in and plan on having to go back in to patch up mini holes before final grinding.
If you need to cool things, use air not water--
Did you do the 45 deg 'cut and butt'--just wonderingOur house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

Thanked: 4206I did cut on an inward angle between the pieces,,but it being a curve, the slot opened up a bit. Nothing worrisome about it though. The cool night air making cool down between welds fairly quick.
