I had a Harley once. Too big and heavy for me.

I quickly upgraded to a Yamaha Virago 1000, a beautiful cruiser and one of the early "Harley wannabes." After a couple of near-death experiences where I really should have been killed, I sold the Virago and haven't had one since.

As dangerous as riding has always been, I would be truly terrified to venture out onto the roads today in the age of texting. Every other asshole you pass is swerving all over the road on the phone-be safe guys!
I ride with care. A couple of times it's come in handy--like the guy in the L.A. area who didn't look and just started to turn left right into me. I hollered and he figured it out. With that said--I don't think he liked it when the traffic stopped next and I kicked his door in and used a finger to let him know that he was #1.

The one thing that I have refused to do is to 'share the lane' which I 'think' it's called. I've basically only seen it in CA and it's were the motorcycles ride between the cars in the lanes and usually at quite a rate of speed. I guess that with age I've just grown more patient. With that said I do like being able to use the Car Pool. At least in CA it's legal for bikes to use any time of the day.

    RIDE ON!

    Oh yeah....'Lane splitting'. A fool's pursuit IMO.

Oh...Roy. Don't kick doors in if you are in Texas.
    Just saying.

I hope to see you again this summer. Then we can take some rides on Wisconsin country roads.
And maybe you can help me pick out a windshield for mine !

I doubt that I will have enough practice time on the Harley to ride it to Dave Waterfills Razor Meet in Sept but you never know.

Remember, it is all your fault! for getting me started on motorcycles at the age of 69!
I just gotta stay away from Craigslist.org !

I would like to go riding with you. While I have a basic idea of my ride this summer I'm still trying to figure out finances and logistics.

By the way!!!! All I did was ride up on my Harley and then you had me store it in your secured garage so it didn't get ripped off or vandalized. I 'think' that I simply brought out a long suppressed desire to be riding a motorcycle that you've had for years!
