About the way it is. Gotta know your limits.
Familiarity on the machine and the roads/trails seems important.
I have found my limit on the street and the dirt. I try to stay south of all that!

Nice looking bikes, gents. Riding gets in your blood.
It’s not riding that scares me, it’s the idiots you have to look out for. Now that I have a couple of kids I can’t really see riding on the street. I spent my teens and early 20’s riding a bike as that’s all I could afford, been hit by cars 3 times and crashed a couple of times. I still miss it. After having a few buddies die on the street and the track it makes it hard to want to chance it.

Goes back to what I said. It’s not for everyone. I raised kids and grandkids. The thought never crossed my mind. My job is 100 times more dangerous than bikes and the crazies out there on the road. So it’s never been an issue with me. Not to mention I had seen much worse in 1971-72 managed to still be here thru all that so maybe I just don’t worry about things like that. Again not everyone is cut out for it. Heck I had my boys on bikes by the time they were 4-5 years old Now both ride almost as much as I do
“ I,m getting the impression that everyone thinks I have TIME to fix their bikes”
