You reground your existing scrapers into negative rake, so you have a real set. Really no need to spend on a set labeled neg rake.
You are going to find that the tool dulls fast I keep a burnishing rod by my lathe for scrapers it saves a trip to the grinder, but even with that you will still be sharpening a lot.

The tools Ive been buying are M42 I think. These first ones I bought are not nearly as hard. But I understand what your saying.
I made one to work the bottom corner and slat sides. Then two ground just opposite to each other in a curvered tip. So I now have the three shapes. I also made one like a skew but off center with the different angles. Made good use of the not used tools. Today Im going to make a handle for a 5/8 bowl gouge and change the tip on a gouge to work the flatter bottoms of bowls. I think they call it a traditional grind?
Anyways. Thanks for the info and I hope to get some shaving flying later. It's just Sharpening, right?

Ive got it down to a science for sure. No questions in my mind what is needed to be done first or next.
Now the bowls and things i still get out of step. You must do certain steps cirst when turning. And leave some things for last. Ive done myself in on a few projects from not thinking it through far enough. It's just Sharpening, right?

Today i made a bowl and a small bowl. The big one is from my Apple tree and the small one from the locust tree.
A lot of cracks in this one. Good practice to keep it together by glueing as i went. It's just Sharpening, right?
