Jeeeesh, Where do I start. 130 MPH on a snowmobile across a soybean field with no headlight. nah

20 minutes in a demo derby with a 2"x4" holding the back of the seat up. nah

Plowing through a 20' long 4' high snowdrift at 45mph in an old Nova. nah

60 mph on a kneeboard to impress the girls in the boat. nah

Oh I got it! Going so fast in an 86 Mustang with Nitrous that the doors were sucking out far enough to leave a gap big enough to flip out a cigarette.

That's a start to some things I remember. Other things I choose to forget.

160 MPH on the Autobahn was a good ride. Hanging out the top of a Humvee at almost 90 MPH early on in my military career was better.

I remember going through a corn field at 75 mph in my first car when I was 17... stupid kid.

Sometimes it amazes me that one... I am still alive, and two... that I've neved been in jail.

It's the small things in life after all... !

Any ride on the autobahn is usually a good one so long as it is in a fast car. Fastest ever was about 140 mph.

The stretch of highway I-44 between St Louis and Springfield can be dangerous, but... I can't resist when I have a 1951 Chevy Styline Deluxe coupe with 350 V-8. I have no idea how fast I was going because the speedo was completely broken, but I do know that everyone else was standing still. That car just won't quit.

Oh, and Alex - you're crazy man! I will never come to your "hood" in the Kingdom - never!

The fastest I've gone in a car is 160 in my 2002 M3 in the Nevada desert. That car just hunkered down and was rock solid at that speed. Supposedly, they'll go 169 (indicated) before the speed limiter sets in, but I saw a car in the distance when I hit 160, so I figured I'd better back off.

The fastest I've gone on a motorcycle was on my '97 Triumph T595 Daytona, which was a 955cc triple. I hit top speed on the front straight at Road America Raceway in one session. I didn't see the speedometer, but it would have been 160+, I'm pretty sure.

But, honestly, I'm not really a high speed junkie. I get my thrills going around corners fast on motorcycles. Speaking of which, I just got a new motorcycle last weekend: a 2007 KTM 950 Supermoto (picture below). This thing is a blast on a windy road!

As a state trooper in Ohio, I get to go fast quite a bit....

I used to really like the thrill of going fast on a motorcycle when I was young, but my career choice has definitely changed my perspective on motorcycles.

I'm not against motorcycles, and I'm not for helmet laws or anything like that, but there are just SO MANY stupid people driving cars these days, that I can't get into riding them anymore. I've seen so many unfortunate motorcyclists killed and maimed because some car driver just didn't "see them."

Hopefully I never get the privilege of meeting any of you guys after your 2-wheeled rocket leaves you a bloody pile of human remains scattered all over the side of the road. Have fun, and play safe!

You have no idea how jealous I am right now. I just put some slicks on the pitbike in my avatar, and that's pretty cool, but nothing like that KTM.
