I have a 98 rolex MOP oyster perpetual. It's got a bit of bling. It's the only expensive watch. It was love at first sight.

Military and Chronograph watches
The JSAR's are not bad price wise as are there smaller cousin's the GSAR or if you like the tritium face the TSAR. If you are in the market for a good quality Military or Chrono and want something that is often not offered in a catalog at very reasonable prices I highly recomend talking to Howard Marx at WestCoastTime www.westcoasttime.com; NO one stands behind what they sell better or offers a nicer selection of watches than Howard at reasonable prices. Not all the bling; but some good solid timepieces that will last your grandchilderen. If you want something with a an eastern block flavor (and they built some nice stuff; again not a lot of bling but good solid watches in stainless cases with good mechanical movements that get the job done. See the folks at www.russia2all.com do not hesitate to use my actual name at either place. Feel free to drop me an e-mail if you are considering a purchase. It's the least I can do for all the help people have given me here on this forum.

Well, ever since those Marathon posts, I've been tempted again. I looked at westcoasttime and started watching watchuseek again. Then I saw the Deep Blue's, and considered going after the DayNight Ops instead, but I decided I like the face on the Marathon more.
Then just today, a Tsar popped up on the WuS marketplace at a price I thought I could manage. I couldn't get my registration in fast enough to PM the guy. Now the funds are out, and the watch should be inbound as of tomorrow!

Happy Days
Well, you should be pretty pleased with that one when it arrives. If it happens to have a couple scratches or desk dive marks there is a company called Boston Watch Exchange that makes a watch polishing kit that will get out just about anything and make an older watch look new and keep them looking new. At first glance it looks pricy but when you look at what you get and compare it to what it costs to send out your baby and trust that someone will take care of it they way you would it's not such a bad deal. (no I dont work for them, I just hate sending a watch out, especially a limited edition, and trusting UPS wont drive over the small package with a fork lift)
Enjoy and post us a pic when it gets here.

The Marathon is a brute of a watch that says all business. Scratches give it more character. It's not a watch a sissy would wear.

My Vintage Orient Star has been great over the last year that I have had it. My only watch and I see no need to get another any time soon.
