    Default railroad detective

I recently purchased a S & W Model 15T. It is a good weapon. If I were in a combat situation I think I would prefer my Springfield M1A or My garand M1.

    I am old school.

I like the older stuff too. I'm inheriting an old M1 carbine from my fiance's uncle.

I've got a DPMS lower with a Alexander Arms .50 Beowulf upper. Fun to shoot! Makes a loud noise and a big hole!

Had two different AR's over the years the first was a actual Colt SP-1 with the old triangular stocks, the second was a the Colt H-bar both were great rifles but I finally realized that I wasn't shooting them as much, and sold both of them....
I built a full custom Rem 700 in .223 for prairie dogging, now that is a shooter, almost boring in how accurate it is...
Then somehow, I ended up with one of those great deals, that you cant say no to, on a Ruger Mini-14 SS
wasn't even looking for one, but you don't say no to a rifle with 500 rds of ammo, that was shot maybe 100 times for $200 I think maybe I have fired it 200 times now

It will probably go the same way as the AR's went, somebody will offer me what it's really worth, and I'll sell it because I never shoot it......

AR-15 hmm? Nice rifle, but I've been bitten by this new bug - black powder cartridge rifles. I attended a match over the weekend where I shot my .45-70 at targets at 200, 300, & 600 yards. Even with aperture sights these old style rifles of the type the buffalo hunters used can be devastatingly accurate.

I've got an AR-10 on the want list, but my 5.56 is a Sig 556. I love the Sig, but my brother-in-law's Bushy M4 is a lot lighter on the front end.

I don't own one, but I carried one of the Government's for two years in Baghdad. I don't care for them. I would rather have a round with more stopping power and less penetration. Some of the ones posted here are beautiful though. I'm waiting for a national match M1A1 my uncle will be bequeathing to me.

    Default Handguns

    Are you into handguns?

I worked 32 years in the deep south as a railroad detective, usually working alone at night in bad areas.

I went through many guns during my career and selected my equipment very carefully.

Ended up with a Springfield Armoury XD .45 acp tactical model as my main weapon.

Carried a S & W Model 327, 2 inch 8 shot revolver in my pocket and had an old Colt Agent in an
Ankle holster as a back up.

Now that I am retired when wearing a coat carry the XD and have the S & W 327 in my pocket when
the weather is too hot for a jacket.

Recently accquired a Spyderco P'Kal folding knife - excellent blade.

    Good Shooting
