but if I have my 'druthers, I like (apart from what you already mentioned) some nice absinthe, a cold gin and tonic, or even a shot of tequila with tabasco in. (hereabouts we call that last one "prairie fire")

I usually stick with good beer. I cleaned our local out of Sam Adams Double Bock, still have a couple of sixes stashed. I'm currently enjoying an Anchor Bock in my hotel room. Good stuff that I didn't realize they made.

No that what the other guy called me when he realized there was more hot sauce than drink in his drink.

What did you call whiskey and hot sauce!

my fave mix drink is one we call a "confederate justice" down here...

    2 shots southern comfort
    2 shots peach schnapps
    2 shots orange juice
enough soda water to make it fizzy

goes down like soda pop, destroys sobriety like a division of panzers going thru st. petersburg

I'll go for the single malt when my bottle of blended Scotch rins dry.

Any way, In the winter sometimes I enjoy a Snowshe: one part each Brandy and mint Schnapps, over ice. The less-than-premium brandies are good for mixing. i save the better (though I don't have exquisite) for having straight.

Another Brandy drink I sometimes have, I haven't seen named: for taste, anywhere from 1:1 to 2:2, or otherwise, of Brandy and either Trplesec or Cointreau, ice optional. Better Brandy needs a better mixer.

Gin and tonic is always an option after a hot day! So are mojitos.

And I make a strawberry daiquiri that makes the ladies purr.

I drank a bottle of Tabasco once on a bet. Mouthwash. I grow my own habanera peppers and make my own hot sauce. Slice some nice and thin and put them between layers of cheese and grill it. mmmm, habanera grilled cheese sandwich. Wash it down with an oatmeal stout.

I have a thing for a good mojito, a white Russian is good on a hot day or Soco and lime, or good old coffee. I drink lots of coffee/espresso, roast my own beans, etc…
