    Default Stylus-philes speak out!

For all you lot out there that are into fancy writing instruments, what's in your pocket today? (I know tony is a fellow fountain-pen nut, there must be others)

Amusingly enough, there is a mirror of this thread going on right now over at fountainpennetwork.com about FP lovers who use straight razors, thought I'd start one up here that inverted it!

In my shirt pocket today are riding a couple of fountain pens: a Lamy Al-Star Safari full of bulletproof Noodler's Iraqi Indigo and a Namiki Vanishing Point loaded with bulletproof Noodler's Legal Lapis. In my laptop bag is a Duke Charlie Chaplin full of bulletproof Noodler's Nikita Red. (in my line of work, ink must be solvent-resistant)

I have a Waterman Expert II with Waterman's Blue-Black ink in the converter with me today...nothing exceptional, but better than my Pilot V-Pen with black ink I usually carry with me.

Today we have an oversize Shaeffer Balance in black and a 1930s Conklin in a red/silver crackle finish.

Bummer, I looked at my Ferrari Da Varese Startacus rolller ball tortoise shell this morning on the counter and decided not to grab it. That thing is so hefty I could use it as a weapon!

What's sitting at the desk with me is an early Moore L-92 (The Moore Pen) EF flex nib with Waterman blue-black and a Pelikan M400 EF with Sailor red-brown.

I've got almost the same load out as jockeys: two Lamy Al-Stars and my Namiki VP with different Noodler's ink in each one.

This what I would like to carry around but my budget is way under for this one.

This most expensive fountain pen was created in 1999 by Caran d’Ache. He designed this pen to show his respect and in the memory of Antoni Gaude a famous modernist architect that lived from 1852 until his death in 1926.

The La Modernista Diamonds fountain pen is made of rhodium coated solid silver components, with an 18-carat gold nib and is covered with 5072 full cut top Wesselton VS diamonds which total a whopping 20 carats. There are 96 half cut rubies arranged on the top of cap, which forms the monogram.

The pen was sold in Harrods, London through a Swiss company, for $265,000 USD.
