Thread: Finer Things - Corsets

So I just wanted to ask the ladies and Spike: Besides the appeal, what is the actual "function" and/or benefits of a corset? Is it just to make one's shape a little more shapely for a short period of time? Do people wear them for extended periods? Do you wear them daily? etc. Anything you feel like throwing in to educate us on the use of corsets will be welcomed. Seriously I'm not looking for "well, they're sexy" but I think you probably got the point there lol.

I only wear corsets occasionally, usually under historical costumes (for Renfaires and the like). There are women who wear them every day, and there are also women who do "corset training," meaning they use corsets to drastically change the shape of their bodies over time. Corset training can adjust the position of ribs and organs when done for long periods of time.
For me, the appeal of the corset is half sexual (that hourglass figure is very attractive to me) and half comfort. Corsets, like lumbar belts, help with posture, and can actually be quite comfortable if they fit properly.

Well I'm GUTTED. Spike wanted to draw me in my corset earlier and I was happy to oblige, so I popped on my red & black leather "rig" and it closed all the way and was a little loose at the top. Damn, looks like I need a new one, hehehe
He took the opportunity to snap a picture for you guys too, so when he logs in later I think both will be posted. Oh Bob, so sorry I didn't have any Opera Gloves for the occasion.

Oh Gods he posted them!
I HATE having my picture taken, it took several hours of negotiating for me to let the picture be taken and only if I could use my sword in the shot, hehehe
