I am thinking of getting a VMax to cross the states next year, they're rough cut diamonds.

Had a slight miship with mine the other day on the way into work.. not fun! Hopefully will get it back on the road soon. Came into a corner a little too hot, didn't lean far enough and did the last thing I should have done (brake in corner) and ended up outside in the grass. can't wait to get it back on the road though. Worst of it is some bent handlebars and a bit of cosmetic damage that I'll probably wait until winter/non riding season to worry about.

Here's my 04 Honda 600 RR. She is my baby. The only reason I still have her is that she was grandfathered into my marriage. I've seen some very good times and some that could have been alot better. She's been on the twisties and to the strip and mostly for the open around around town or to work.

The only bad time I can think of is that of an old lady a blind corner and left turn. I was coming out of the blind turn starting to straighten out when the old lady made eye contact, then pulled out in front of me, then stopped to make an immediate left turn. I thought I could stop, but I didn't want to eat her glass. Bike went into the ditch and myself the oncoming lane. I flipped my visor open, she looked at me and sped off. Needless to say these pics were taken after that fact.

I've always loved the open road, it clears your mind, and makes you feel free. Plus no matter where you go, the females are lured . Be safe, and remember "Rubber side down".

    Default Thumpers! Thumpers! Thumpers!

I like big 4-stroke singles. My first bike was a new 1979 Yamaha SR500. I finally sold it 2 years ago. It was a street bike, and I found myself washing and waxing it more than riding it, so 15 years ago I added a 1984 Honda XL600R Dual Sport. It became my main ride. Tall, red, plastic fenders, kick start, 350 lbs. Lots of low end torque. Light and nimble. I never washed it. It looked good with bugs on it. I put street rubber on it since I don't ride off-road. It was getting pretty tired and parts kept shaking off it. A friend talked me into replacing it with a Sportster. I guess for me, 2 cylinders is bad luck. I had 2 accidents in June, the second one totalled the bike. I just picked up another Dual Sport, a 2007 Kawasaki KLR650. What a beast! Liquid cooled 650 single that only weighs 340 lbs. I feel like a pussy on an electric start bike, but nobody makes a kick start dual sport anymore. My 50 mile ride to work each day is heaven!

I've been riding since 1967. Yamaha, Honda, Triumph, Harley. Current bike a 2004 HD Road King is my favorite but my current bike is always my favorite. My scariest moment was going around Kansas City passing a semi at about 80 MPH in the rain and I see a barricade that says lane ends. I made it but it slowed me down after that. I still don't know how I missed the original sign warning about the lane closing.

I'm a a dedicated dirtbiker. I live in one of the top destinations in the world for mountain riding and I've been riding for almost 10 years (I started when I was about 7),

Last year I bought a brand new '07 YZ450F and have put hundreds of hours on it. I've taken it to paradise valley, hagerman, Overton Nevada, and of course the Big hole mountains where I live.

I'll be getting my drivers license in September and then I'm on the lookout for a street bike. I can't wait, I just hope you can apply dirtbiking skills to street riding.

Too bad you can't jump em like a dirtbike. I will post pictures later!

Some dirtbiking skills do apply, but there are some key areas like steering that are totally different (you do it backwards). The main thing that is the same is being vigilant and aware of everything.

I heard that, that it's kind of like snowmobiling, you press right to go left, left to go right.

Didn't know that you biked, that's pretty cool.

Who doesn't like going almost 50 miles an hour on an 8 inch wide track covered in logs on the side of a cliff?
