My best and worst ride was with the sportster. Wanted to see how fast it was, put on into the danger sone from top gun and went full trottle. Had a great time!
When I slowed down there was a strange sound, my front brake was hanging on with 1 tread on one bolt also my left fotrest was gone. Still thank god that I survied that one

Couldn't stop laughing after reading this, the entire post just screams out HARLEY DAVIDSON! Still the most efficient way to convert petroleum into sound without the byproduct of horsepower!

P.S. i didn't mean the part about your ride getting pinched, i feel your pain on that one. My first zz250 got pinched by joyriders who just thrashed and dumped it. Really wish they bought back the death penalty here...

My daily ride, 91 Suzuki GS 500. Who needs to own a car when you own a motorcycle?

P.S. I down graded from a 650.... missing the extra power....

My first motorcycle was a Honda Shadow 500,,loved it, had it 6 months,,a guy made a left turn in front of me 3 blocks from the house, drove the bike through the front passenger door & my front tire was resting on his right thigh. Thank God he was driving a Toyota, the bike stayed in the car & I went over the top about 15 yards,,,,enough for a 1st down & a compound fracture to my left arm.

    I had a new 700 Shadow in 4 months.

Plain black wrapper 2007 - nothing special. I really like the way BMW made this bike as a naked street bike or bag/shield trimmed ST. The non-BMW adds are 35w halogen Motolights on the front calipers (they are magnificent - bright day/night and built to last) and the 25" Cee Bailey windscreen. 68,000 miles, 48mpg, curve-carver.

You're wired for bikes or you're not, I guess. I bailed from a GoldWing in 1995 before it high-sided; I bounced a little, skidded spread-eagled a lot and rolled a little as the finishing act. Bruised ass, sprung little finger, scarred helmet, shredded clothes, totalled bike - fortunately I was dressed for cold weather that day. Now I only dress for the fall. Had a 1996 GL1500 later that year. (I never claimed to have any brains.)

I'm definitely not wired for bikes. Swapped my van for a bike one summer in the late 70's early 80's. It was a Yamaha Seca?? 750...was fun, but absolutely terrifying...not for me!

I used to ride a 94 Fatboy. First day I owned it, I skidded into a ditch and flipped end-over-end. But I got her fixed and got back on.
Sadly, I had to sell the bike two years ago; it started having mechanical and electrical problems I had neither tools nor expertise for and my local dealer is [CENSORED]. Sold it to some guy that knows his way around a wrench better than I as his winter project.
Currently I'm bikeless but that will be remedied when the time's right...

Probably between 80 and 90 MPH. LOL Sporty's ain't well known for being fast. Pretty quick, yes, fast, not really.

Ya want to turn money into noise and chase crap that fell off?
    Ride a knuckle head.

Try taking a 90CI shovel wide open till it goes lean and starts blowing fire out the carb and then try to figure out how fast you're going. I never did because I twisted the speedo gear off at the tranny on that run. Speedo quit at 130 on that bike and whatever it ended up at was WAY too damn fast for that piglet.
