My favorite gun is my Browning gold hunter 12 ga (not made anymore). I' shoot skeet with it, hunt ducks and birds with it.

Thanked: 3224Yea, not much wrong with Browning/Miroku made guns. Had a Browning/Miroku made B78 HB 7 Rem mag that was pretty slick too. Fn made Brownings were still preferred then so it took a while to Miroku made Brownings to gain favour. Mind you the Browning/FN made 98 Mauser action 30-06 sporter was very nice too. Then there was the Browning/FN made 22 cal Medalist target pistol with beautiful Rosewood, Brazilian iirc, grips and removable fore end. Yea, I liked most of what Browning made and wish I could have afforded more too. Those were good days.

Glock model 23 (Carried Blue Dots for home protection and even had Black Talons in it at one time) Canada won't let me bring my pistol here...... Barrel is too short and that ammo is illegal here too.
Remington 870 Wingmaster 12 gauge, shortened barrel 22" with poly choke.....My father bought it new in early 70s.Last edited by Willisf; 12-31-2015 at 06:32 AM.

Long rifle- Tikka (Poor man's Sako. Mine's in 30.06)
Shotty- Benelli Supernova
Pistol- Glock 21
CC-Glock 36
Rimfire- Marlin 60
Combat rifle- A dead heat. Some days it's an M-4 (I really like Daniel Defense), others it's a Bulgy or Russian AK.
A couple of my lil' darlings:

Thanked: 13245I can't believe I missed this thread for so many years
Favorite gun ????
That is honestly a tough question, so I am going to go with what gun I think is my absolute never get rid of, always keep ready, and as close to me as possible...
Mine is a little different then most here because of where I live, I stand way more of a chance of running into a pissed off Mama Moose or a goodly sized Bear then anything else so my favorite gun is a "Thumper" I want something that works reliably in the snow, rain, cold, and heat so I select an old fashioned proved action.
My Fav is a Marlin Guide Gun in 45-70, granted I handload so I can take the power level up a bit for my rounds since I don't have any old Spencers hanging on the wall
I use simple 405 gr Lasercast Flatpoints that will group from this rifle into about 2" at 75 yards offhand all day.. They chrono out at about 1450 fps which pumps out some huge ft/lb of NRG but doesn't punish my shoulder that bad at all..
The sights were changed years ago from the ineffective Buckhorns it came with to a Lyman adjustable Ghost Ring which really improved the target hitting ability for the rifle.. It was out shooting the sights from day one out of the box, the Lyman just brought it together
My fav with me up in the Hills of North Idaho

I must be a downright sissy Glen. I handload 45-70 to take the power down a bit, and even then I need a recoil reducer strapped to my shoulder to fire more than 2 rounds. That is with a Browning B-78 with a 28" bbl. I can't imagine what recoil would be out of a Marlin guide gun.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

G19 for me. I'm a rifle guy but if I want reliability, cheap and easily available parts and the most common cartridge known to man that hg can't be beat. I own(ed) many other guns and calibers but this thing is like shooting a BB gun as far as recoil goes and both my wife and I shoot it accurately.
A close second would be my tikka t3 lite in 270 wsm. I've owned a few custom actions and trued M700's and the action on that tikka is as smooth or smoother than any of them. I've also killed a lot of game with that gun which gives it that extra little "aura" about it. You know that feeling of, if I can see it, I can hit it.
