Favorite Whiskey
I am a big Bourbon Fan, but my favorite libation is Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey. Superb stuff, very complex. Vanilla, Banana, caramel, leather, etc, it's all in there it seems. A little pricey at $50, but really terrific stuff.

Midnight Moon
Never heard of that one. Is it a new Whiskey? Can you tell me anything about it?

Thanked: 0Bourbon
I'd highly recommend Maker's Mark Bourbon. Small batch bourbon, carefully aged. Cheap as dirt (for small batch whisky.)
I love Knob Creek---pricier.

Maker's Mark
Yes, I agree, good stuff. The new Maker's Mark 46 is good too, though not sure it is worth the extra price. I have a good variety of Bourbon's in my cabinet, and am always looking to try something new. Trying now to get hold of St George's of Alameda CA, not the english one, but if I could I would try to get that one also. I am in PA so my selection is quite limited to the State Government's tastes, but sometimes I can special order through them.

I`m a whisky drinker, and a Cognac, Armagnac or Calvados drinker for that matter. I prefer single malts from Scotland when it comes to whisky, and the best whisky I have tasted was a Glenfarclas 35 YO stored in Oloroso Sherry butts. It was sublime. Distillerys I like is Mcallan, Laphroig, Highland Park and Talisker. Many others of course, but these are my favorites.
When it comes to Irish Whiskey I like the Green Spot, but it is only sold in Ireland, a great whiskey for the money. Bushmills 10 YO Malt is also nice
I have little experience with Bourbons, but the Woodford Reserve is quite nice.

Thanked: 0Anyone tried Bruichladdich? I had a bottle last year of one of the specials and it really is very special. I also recently discovered that a chap in our office is brother in law to Jim McEwan their head distiller! He's my hero now.

For around $20.00, you cannot go wrong with Buffalo Trace.

Thanked: 2As for bourbon, three fingers of Knob Creek and I'm happy but I don't shun the occasional shot of Jack Daniels (I know its technically not bourbon but rather sour mash whiskey from Tenn. but to me its bourbon nonetheless) every now and again if out with my fools. I am also fond of and have enjoyed Blanton's, Bulliet and Woodford.
As for Scotch - Oban and Lagavulin are my personal favorites. Usually neat with a water back but occasionally on the rocks. I also enjoyed recently Glenmorangie - The Quinta Ruben but I had exceptional company, good blues and a great cigar so I will have to revisit before committing funds to acquire another bottle.
However, I am not biased against blends either. Give me good company and a healthy glass of Dewars or Dimple Pinch and I'll make do.
Regards all.
