Never saw one myself. I read "Death In The Afternoon" by Ernest Hemingway and liked it a lot. It was a non fiction account of the bull ring in Spain in the late '30s. If you can find a copy it would be a good read before you go.

Congratulations. May I suggest a Medallon Taurino for the pre-event shave?

    Default Bullfight

I turned 21 years old on July 10, 1967 in Barcelona Spain. Went to a bullfight. That day the bull was dedicated to Salvatore Dali.
    Will never forget it.

Anyone interested in reading about the Spanish Civil War, I reccomend the book, Men at War by Alvah Bessie. Great read.

    Enjoy Madrid, Ray.

Be sure that you and your wife go to El Corte Ingles, IMO one of the coolest multi-level department stores on the planet. They have a great selection of men's clothes and scads of great silk ties, etc. Pick up a tortilla (spanish omelet, not the flour flatbread), some wine and some other things at the amazing deli and bring the stuff back to your room for a great eat in meal. Just an idea.

Or you could hit all the antique stores and flea markets and buy up all the Fillys and other great Spanish made razors you can find.

    Great stuff! Enjoy Madrid!

The best thing to do in the evening IMO, is to go round the various tapas bars in the city, and there are loads I can assure you...!

You should also check out the Museo del Jamon, which does fantastic hams and salamis etc... I believe its on Calle Mayor? Go in, get a bottle of rioja and half a dozen plates of tapas and enjoy! When you're done, go for a wander and find another tapas place! The best way to eat out ever! Theres a great ****tail bar not far from the palace as well, I cant remember where exactly it is (too many bottles of rioja before I got there...!) but I`ll try and track it down and post a link.

I love Madrid, its a fantastic city and I hope you have a great holiday!

Good, you will love Madrid and may be even the "Corrida"! Who are the bullfighters?

In Madrid is difficult to have a bad meal, actually there are both "Museo del jamon" and "Meson del Jamon", both good to try real Spanish food. You wil also see many "CaƱas y Tapas", this is the "fast food Spanish style" where you will be able to have typical food at very good prices, and then many, many small bars and restaurants with traditional food...

Let me know if you need any indication on anything (apart from getting a NOS Filly for 20 bucks, that I do not know), and have a great time!

    LOL yes!
Don't let your wife get too much into spanish hubby treating habits.
You'll regret later on. (Even I feel sorry for them, LOL)
