I dearly love a S X S double. That's what i started with 60 years ago and still use. I have own autos over & unders and pumps even single shots but the S X S doubles are my favorites.

Speaking of 22s, how about an old Colt Woodsman Target third model, and a Browning junior size copy of a Government model in 22LR ...........

The Woodsman is one of the great target 22s and all steel of course. When you extend your arm to present to the target you know you have a pistol in your hand. The Browning is aluminum and light as a feather. Actually takes more muscle control and concentration to shoot than the Colt, because it is so light that it is more difficult to hold still. Once you get used to it the thing is a hoot to shoot.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I'll bet the M41 is a lot easier to field strip than my 22/45 MkIII!!! Even when following the instructions and watching a YouTube video on the procedure, I never dropped as many F-bombs as I did reassembling the pistol. It got easier with successive fieldstrips, but it is unnecessarily complex to reassemble.

None of those wheelguns has seen anything other than a target. I just like the challenge of shooting a magnum revolver accurately since we know the recoil from them wears the shooter down quickly, especially with that S&W 500. And going from 300g bullets on the 44 atop a max charge of H110, the 500 had less of a perceived kick than anticipated.

    The 41 is soooo simple.
Remove the magazine, pull the slide back till it locks, pull down the trigger guard, lift the barrel off. Its that quick.

Model 41 WITH a Leupold? Excellent combo. Those 41s are the best out there for .22 pistols.
