There's a local gunshow this weekend and it lines up with my birthday!

I have shot a bunch, but still have pretty limited knowledge....

Any tips I should know? Just in case I find myself overcome with an acquisition disorder....

Sigs will spoil you. Yes, they are a step up from Glock and a HUGE step up if you get into the Legion series. I have eyeballed the p320 several times.

Well one thing i am going to do for sure is stay clear of any manufacturer vs Glock is better.. From lots of experience almost all Glock owners will accept no substitute... I have owned the 26,43,17 and 19 and still have the 26 & 17... I myself have never, ever had or have seen a miss fire with a Glock.. I was going to do a little write up on the Glock 20 10mill that my cousin bought and i got to fire a number of rounds through the other day.. Without a doubt the most fun and maybe best Glock i have personally shot.. Looks a little intimidating but with that big chunk of a slide and the perfect weight it handles and comes back on line flawless!! I liked a lot..
Now to the Sigs.. I have really enjoyed this p320 and asthetically like better than Glock.. Trigger as stated before is so smooth with an almost perfect break for me.. This lists as a sub compact but driving with it on my hip it is a little big for long periods in the waist area and might be better in shoulder holster.. Even before i grabbed this Sig i have been eye balling the p365 9mm micro for an ultra conceal carry.. Had one in my hand many times but we have 1 gun range that has them for range rental but everytime i have went to test 1 out they are already rented.. They are a hot item in this area.. I am not one to be set on a particular brand of hand gun.. Ive owned a number.. Glock, Kahr, SW, Ruger,Beretta, Bersa, Colt and now Sig.. Never really had any issues with any of said manufacturers having discharge issues but my main carry for years has been my Glock 26 because i feel i could drop that in in 2ft of water with it sinking in 8 inches of mud and 100% feel she would still fire if needed in a bad situation...
I do look forward to buying another Sig after thus purchase though..

I will never badmouth a Glock, they are the ak-47 of the pistol world. They work. All I am saying is I own several sigs and they are a whole other class of weapon. Years ago I made a move to downsize quantity and go up in quality. Sigs are like straight razors, you cant have just one. On the ultra compacts, look at the sig 938. Most accurate ultra compact I have shot or owned. Being a 1911 nut, it reminds and feels like a mini 1911.

Both Sigs and Glocks are outstanding firearms (my opinion) and I own both. Depending of the type of situation that you are trying to accomplish, they both work independently well. It just depends.......

New year means new rifle build. I'll use this, as it stands, for this years PRS/NRL matches. I have a Proof Carbon Fiber blank I'll spin up in 6.5 PRC for this falls elk hunt.

    Specs:
    Action: Bighorn Origin
Barrel: 26" Bartlein SS 1:8 (shouldered) in 6.5 Creed
    Custom carbon fiber stock
    Badger bottom metal
    MDT AICS mags
    MPA muzzle brake
    Bipod: Ckye-Pod
    Scope mount: Spuhr
    Scope: Zero Compromise 527

All work done by Aces and Eights Firearms (aka Me)

That is quite the set up!! Very nice... The 6.5 Creedmoor seems to be the hot round right now.. I hear of guys trying to find brass for it around here and been sold out for awhile.. Same goes for any in stock rifles too... Kind of funny as that caliber has been around for a long time.. Always wondered why some great calibers make it big and some just dont?
My 2 main hunting rounds are 257 Roberts in a Ruger M77 and a 358 Browning BLR.. Both shoot fantastic and it would be hard to ever get rid of those.. My Ruger 270 and Remington 30-06 see very little hunting time..
Guess we'll see if the 6.5 Creedmoor faze lasts or not..
Anyway great looking build and hope you do well with it this fall..
    Peace.. Scott

    Thanks.

Brass and any other component is readily available online. Even most LGS and big box stores have anything and everything needed.

While the basic premise of the cartridge has been around for a long time, that design of the 6.5CM case itself has only been around since '12.

Some calibers become 'hot' and others 'not' due to supply and demand and how they work in modern terms. Take the 300 Win Mag vs the 300 PRC or 300 Norma. Back in the day, the 300WM was the kitties-titties. However, with the advent of modern VLD bullets, we have figured out the antiquated belt (which is useless to reloaders) and small case volume of the WM, better options are available. Try stuffing a 220gr VLD pill inside a WM case and get 3100fps. It just ain't gonna happen, unless you have the barrel throated. Even then, 3100fps will never happen out of a WM and that heavy of pill. Enter the PRC and/or Norma. Both will happily digested the 220 or 230 grain pill. And with the larger case volume, via changed shoulder angle, you can stuff another 3+ grains of powder in it.

Looking for some feedback on this question.. I have had a Michigan CPL since the state allowed concealed carry.. Now I dont always carry but since I drive for a living and with what's going on with the virus I have decided that I'm going to be armed at all times.. Had quite a few guns that I have used for this purpose with a kahr9 and a sig sub compact 9mm 320.. These are fine guns for carry but driving for many hour during the week both of them can get uncomfortable.. I decided that a 357 wheel gun will be a bit more comfortable for long road trips.. I dont want to spend to much money as this will have 1 purpose only and not much recreation plinking..
I have narrowed down to 2 guns and hoping some of you guys might have some experience with them..
First is a Taurus 605 357 poly and second is Charter Arms mag pug 357.. I know there are better quality guns out there but not looking for much.. 15ft and under, pull trigger is all..
So anyone own either by chance and if you do let me know your opinion?
    Thanks fellas, Scott

Given those choices, I'd go with the Taurus, but if I were driving for a living I'd also keep a higher capacity "truck gun" in the truck, like a Glock 19 or something similar like a S&W M&P 9 compact which comes with a safety if you prefer.
