I've been riding for 10 years or so, started on a Honda 750 interceptor, now I ride a 2005 Suzuki GSXF 750. I head down to North Carolina to the Tail of th Dragon US 129 every summer to ride the twisties. They have the best roads in North America.

I like the look of that Concours. For those of you with experience on them, how is the ride? The shape of the seat makes it look like you'd be in more of a sport bike stance. Is it comfortable for touring? How about the power and power delivery? I'm looking for a bike that is comfortable to take distances, but is still maneuverable and powerful enough to carve through traffic like a sport bike.

Good question, I've been wondering the same about the newer sport-touring bikes. I left the sportbike world and went to a cruiser. Love it, don't get me wrong, but the raw power of the Blackbirds I used to ride was amazing & it was considered a "sport/touring" bike. I miss that power and handling. I never got the hard bags for it, but it was quite comfortable on long rides if solo...but not so two-up.

Some nice bikes in here. Ive been riding since 2004. I have a 2003 GSXR 750 painted up like the general lee. I dont have any pics on this computer. Ive gone to the tail of the dragon twice. The first time was a blast. Second time it was way too crowded to enjoy.

Hey i had similar black Suzuki GXS750F until 1999 when it went into pieces in traffic accident. Very good bike to drive, specially alone. We did some shorter European and Scandinavian tournaments with my wife, but with 2 persons and bags it became little too lazy. Tried to tune it mildly but didn't much help. Nowadays i have 1200 Bandit S with little more torque on it.

Have any of you gents ever done Iron Butt?

I've done an Iron Butt, from North Carolina back to Montreal in less than 24 hrs. I like my bike, comfy for long hauls and fun in the twisties.
