Pratt for me. Never had a clue what it was until recently (I thought it was 4 in hand). Once I realized there were other styles out there I printed off all the instructions from the page you listed and tried them with a couple of ties....

And I think I'll stick with the Pratt! 4 in hand and Half Windsor are too lopsided for me, I like it to be even on both sides... and the Windsor just looks comical, but I'm a pretty short guy (5'6) so maybe it's not well suited.

I've been tying the Pratt for over 11 years (I'm 24) and can do it blindfolded with my eyes closed and hands tied behind my back (ok maybe not the last part). It was funny recently as I was reading through the website I was trying to figure out which knot I used. For the life of me I couldn't actually remember how I did it. It's not a process for me, I just put a tie on my neck and my hands figure the rest out!

Just got my first bow tie recently. Spent about 20 min trying to figure that out, but haven't used it since, so I'm sure I'll need more practice.

Just came accross this. Thought it was interesting. Apparently they think that ties should be sloppy (lop-sided, and don't use the "keeper").

Really depends on the tie. Most of them I use the full windsor, but sometimes I use a half windsor.

Full windsor for me too, with the occasional half-windsor when it fits the collar better. Frankly, I hate the damn things, and try to avoid them as much as possible, but I still have to wear them for big meetings on occasion.

It's the same as a shoelace knot.

And the best practice is done on your leg. Find that point of your thigh that is the same thickness as your neck and go to town. Do it while watching TV or riding the subway.

You'll be a pro in no time.

Most days I use a four in hand, but occasionally I switch it up with a half or full windsor if I want a fatter knot. I find the four in hand the quickest to make properly when I'm running out the door early in the morning.

I do almost exclusively pick a full windsor, tied a lil' extra fat, if I'm wearing a sweater over my shirt and tie, because the length of the tie doesn't matter when you're wearing it under a sweater, and because I like to show off that part of my tie that is visible in the v-neck of the sweater when sporting this look

The Corps taught a four-in-hand knot but my Daddy taught be the full winsor long before I joined the Corps. Of course I used the four-in-hand while in the Corps.
