Cigars are wierd sometimes, the Regional Release RA Enimencias were very good young and have, IMO, gotten worse with age.

I just had my brother bring me back a cuban from a certain place from a certain trip he went on. ha ha. I'll have to let you all know how it goes when we get to sit down and enjoy the goods.

Haven't smoked any Bolivars. My favs are LFD (Box Press, Ligeros and Cabinet Caroon), San Cristobal (made by Ashton), and Gran Habano (inexpensive but very tasty). However, like many great things in life, it's all personal taste. If yuo decide to purchase a humidor get one that hold 5-6 times as many as you think you might want to start with. It's funny how small it gets in a hurry!

[QUOTE=Bayamontate;542173]I smoked a Dunhill Cabinetta during the summer 25+ years old that was still amazing. The oldest cigars I've smoked was a 1951 Bolivar (smaller than a PC) has was excellent as well. Proper storage is paramount.[/QUOTE

Those sound awesome. I am relatively new to cigars. My oldest being a few 10yo Punch Churchills. I agree with the RC's. They were awesome right OOTB. I am finding the Cohiba sig's need at least 5 years (or more) before they lose thier bitterness.

I would love to try one of the old Davidoff Habanos. They are supposed to be outstanding.

Love the Boli RC's and the RASS, those are my go to cigars. I like the 06's the best. My absolute all time favorite cigar is probably the RA Belicoso from 05, I have a box sitting in the humi!

At this point if I don't buy another cigar I am good for about 10 years smoking 1-2 per week.

The pre-1991 Davidoffs are hit-or-miss depending, again, on storage. Some I've tried have been mild but flavorful while others have been downright bland. The last 1986 Davidoff DP I smoked was a disappointment, bland with zero complexity. I've had better luck with the smaller vitolas. IMO, too much good regular production stuff to be had to pay the premium on most these vintage smokes. There are, however, some excellent vintage machine-made cigars that are amazing and relatively inexpensive.

If you can get hold of some ACID cigars, they are very full flavor. Though if you don't smoke often the I would not smoke the entire cigar at one sitting.

please don't take offense to this, but please don't smoke acids. At the cigar shop I am a member they just offend people with the odor, they are more like clove cigarettes than cigars

This is why I store everything earmarked long-term in ziplock bags. Less oxygen and air circulation slow down oil evaporation resulting in more flavor.

Not uncommon, some people like their strong Partagas, Bolivar, RA and R&J Cazadores strong with under a year on them. Nothing wrong with that, taste is subjective.
