Long Day Mac 12 to end it, IMHO the best everyday Scotch out there.

My favorite has become Oban. I'ts a bit pricey and I treat it like, well, a treat. Super smooth, and sweet like candy. To steal a phrase from the beer world and to risk being labeled a swiller this is my go to session drink. I've polished off a bottle in a day and wished I had more. Truly my favorite out there and I'm surprised nobody else mentioned it.
If you like a scotch with a little smokiness and not too much peat have you tried Dalwhinnie or Highland Park

Dalwhinnie 15 is very nice, not a bad starter either because of its smoothness.

Purchased a 18 yoa Glenfiddich this weekend for the holiday. Also very nice but not as tasty as the 21.

    My preference....

I really enjoy it straight followed with a sip of water just to feel how it changes in caracter
I also quite enjoyed a bottle of Ardmore. I have been saving the last bit to share with a fellow single malt fan at work.
I have lately kept a bottle of Glen Moray 12 open as my "daily" drink. (weekly is more correct, but it is my current favorite cheap bottle - under $30).
I have a bottle of Tullibardine 13 yr old that I bought after sampling at a tasting, but still haven't opened. Have to finish my Glenlivet 15yr French Oak (Christmas present) first.
Fan of the Balvenie Doublewood, too.
I just have to make a point to drink more often....

well after reading about all the diff scotches and all the comments,i was getting thirsty. So today i went to the liquor store and took out my list and stood in front of all the goodness and the Glenmorangie 12 the Lasanta extra matured in Sherry casks landed in my hands, the only other scotch i had was Mac 12. So this weekend i got a birthday and were going to test drive the new scotch with a Monte cristo. Cheers!

I am a bourbon drinker and I just started getting into Scotch. Had a glass of Lagavulin this weekend and couldn't stop smiling the entire hour and a half I sipped on it. Looks like I'm an Islay whore in the making. Can't wait to try some more...

Your going to like the Sherry taste in the scotch. Very noticeable and delicious.

I am a Scotch drinker who was away for a few days in a place that only had Jack Daniels available. I am now very fond of JD an have some available when the mood sets.

Don't stop at the Islay, there are many tasty types of scotch.
