I bought a tube of Brylcreem and tried it. I used very little. It did what it was supposed to do. I can be sensitive to smells; oddly enough I didn't like the smell of Brylcreem on my hair. It was very very faint, but I didn't find it pleasant. I'd catch light whiffs and it made me feel like I was wearing something on my head which I guess I was.

When I was a little kid my parents used that stuff in my hair. I'm getting to the point of having the same hair style again maybe I'll have to give it another try.

i've noticed myself that i'm looking more and more like a 7 year old these days..
usual outfit consists of a pair of 501's or op shorts and a le tigre polo.. i generally wear vans authentics with the laces.. but have recently purchased a set with a rubber toe and 3 velcro straps.. before i know it i'll be trading marbles again.

I've tried it, but prefer Groom & Clean--I have very thick, unruly hair & the G&C has much better hold, but it's still not too stiff. It's supposed to be re-combable too. I also use Vitalis for a bit of shine. & Clubman a lot!

Thanked: 7I like Brylcreem when I'm in a rush I don't have to work it in as much. But it doesn't provide enough hold to last long. I go with Royal Crown hair dressing and if I can find it their pomade. Murray's Nu-Nile is ok as is the Super Light. Lay-Rights too pricey for me as I live in upstate NY and nobody carries it.

Thanked: 102Brylcream
I remember about 50 years ago the advertisement said that if you used Brylcream the girls would love to run their fingers through your haid. I went out and got a tube.
Didn't happen!
Scarew Brylcream.
They lied.

The song went: "Brylcreem . . . A little dab'l do ya! They'll love to run their fingers through your hair."
I used it in the mid-60s when I was in grammar school. It wasn't nearly as greasy as Score and Vitalis was next to worthless.
Nowadays I just tell my barber to take it down to bare metal. I don't even own a comb anymore!
No more bad hair days--YEAH!!!

I changed from Brylcream to Wild Root a couple of years ago. Seems to keep the hair laying down nice but not too greasy. I can usually find it at CVS.
