    Heartfelt Beads.

Who uses them...and do you use straight distilled water or an elixir (distilled water/propylene glycol)?

I use Xikar beads in the jar. I keep the jar filled with the Xikar brand glycol. It works wonders in my 150 count humidor. Have been using them approx 2 years now. I will occasionally use distiller water on the wood when the air gets bone dry. The glycol does a great job keeping everything where it should be.

The friends who I know use glycol have never said a bad word to me about it. I will guess that someone does not like glycol but I don't know who.

Hope a simple opinion helps. Good luck.

The master tobacco blenders at Oliva should be sainted for many of their flavors and offerings.

    Thanks very much!

I've been using the gel beads with the elixir as well, however where I'm at in the world it's very dry during the winter months and it's not quite doing the trick; looking for something more effective in a passive humidity regulator.

    Cheers!

I understand dry weather. While we don't get quite as dry here in Missouri, much of this winter has been single digit humidity, as most recent winters. I know that there are many options out there. Xikar beads and the glycol work well for me. I check it about once a week or every other week.

Every time I think about getting a larger humidor, I then start thinking about a mechanical humidifier like and Oasis. I have not used an Oasis myself but I have heard decent things about them.

Good luck finding what will work for you!! If I ever get a larger humidor and an oasis, I will post my results with it.
