And they get hot enough so if you get tired of cooking in them you can use them to re-temper your razors.

If it's any consolation, Leon misses you too, Big Guy. I was in there not too long ago and he was asking how you're doing. The tako was excellent, btw.

All kidding aside unless your really flush with cash they are for serious outdoor cooks. If all you do is throw a couple burgers or hot dogs or steaks on the grill every now and then they are probably overkill in my opinion. Kind of like going out and buying a complete set of Shapton Hones with honing station and pond and lapping plate when you only own 1 or 2 razors.

I completely agree. These things are for those who love to grill and want what comes off of their grill to be as optimal as possible.

And yes, I'm still eyeing that full set of Shaptons!

All I can say is that I have been a charcoal griller virtually my entire life. I have used different smokers from Weber to 55 gallon drums over the years. I'm not sure a hot dog can be improved much, but for everything else, I have never enjoyed the flavor and moistness in everything I throw at this grill. The versatility for direct and indirect not to mention all the fun rubs (obviously can be used with all grills), marinates and types of wood chips just seem to be providing some of the best tasting BBQ I have had. Really interesting with chicken is that you can use the beer can method or just a plain rack and the chicken ends up as moist and flavorful as can be. Fish on the Egg is also awesome. Grilled Pizza.......

I agree that they are not the cheapest toy out there, but they are very nice.

Hey Lynn, try a spatch**** chicken sometime. Really a good technique. Too bad about the name, however.
