    No pipe this weekend, so I'm having a pre-dinner bowl of Capstan in the Stanwell HCA.

    p.s. Sailor, what's the secret to smoking Capstan? I just can't seem to get much flavor from this tobacco like I do from other Virginia blends. I really want to like this tobacco. I admit the tin I have open dried out quite a bit before I put it in a Mason jar.

    I had that same exact issue(s). I'm wondering if the stuff over in Europe is different somehow ???

    Capstan blue has always been my top favorite and longest VA blend; i can't tell any secrets. There are other decent VA's out there like SG Best brown and Germains Medium etc but imho every aspect of Capstan just fits nicely to my tastes. I guess it's just to each his own.

    However, recently manufacturing went from ST to MacB. I think that the new version is little bit different. Not much but little. I'm not the only one noticing this; there's been a lot of talk at the Scandinavian forums. Someone said it has a MacBarenish sidenote now New version ain't bad by any means. Just different. Luckily i have several tins of the old version. Enough to get me thru world war Z and Metro 2033.
