Well, friends!
Now we posted more than 4K articles with a lot of beautiful stuff.
Thanks a lot to all POTD-members
After a 6 mile hump and a field exercise in the down pour I spent my Sunday at the NRA convention in St Louis and puffing on carter hall in a cob
Mac Baren Golden Extra in my Petson System Standard #312 Ebony. Every time I smoke this pipe, I like it a bit more. And it was pretty nice the first time!

Old Gowrie from Missouri Meer. On a 1200 cc pipe stand.

Ah, I gotta snag this pic from my buddies phone. I decided to try the pipe. A buddy told me about a local pipe shop, I went to pick up matches and a stand. Somehow I walked out of there with matches, stand, house brand aristrocrate and a bent cob. The tobacco is nice and one of their recommendations as a cool burner since im a cig smoker. But my kit isn't the smoke of the day that day, the buddy was hyped on it and carved his own pipe from a random branch. Using a metal cut-off wheel, knife and a long drill bit. It actually came out pretty sweet. The excess black cut lines and general random burnt areas from the cut-off wheel provided color contrast. The natural and random shape of a branch, chopped and a little nub to take puffs off of, double barrel hole for tobacco. After a half bowl and a bowl it smoked good too!

Cob a Carter hall after the doctors office today. I've found out that I tore a hip flexor and will be out of all PT for 4-6 weeks.

JD, a very nice Meer...well done. I've always been a fan. I will have an African meer in my stable some day...
Tonight I smoked my own, Players Flake in a bent acorn. I've packed away all my briars for a move, but have left my meer for regular smoking this spring...looking forward to watching the colour change...

That's a nice one, MWS.
Pipe: Jake Hackert 2011
Tobacco: Georgetown Tobacco's Reverie: Our most popular aromatic blend with bits of dark Cavendish, bright Virginias and the mellowing effect of burley. It has a delicately sweet flavor that no one has been quite able to pin down.
Tamper/Pick: Antler
Lighter: Zippo

Anyone here ever smoke any W.O. Larsen tobacco? Someone recommended it to me and I was wondering if anyone here had a favorite blend that they prefer? Has anyone tried the limited edition 2012?
The last of my Mac Baren Golden Extra in my Grandfather's Brigham Sportsman. I'm not sure if I like the softie bit or not. I am sure that I will buy this tobacco again.

I think Thomas (eTom) has most experiences with W.O. Larsens.
Here W.O. Larens have a reputation of being very fine, expensive and highly aromatized (candy) yet mild tobaccos. 'Signature' is probably most famous of Larsens, but that was too candy for me. Currently i have an opened tin of '1864' and it is more of my taste. Very fine tasting without being too sweet. Too bad it lacks vitamin N.
I like Signature that's true.
I tested also some "Special Editions" but I think these specials are to expensive.
Everybody should test some tobaccos and find his own way.
Some of us like tobaccos with Latakia, some of us hate Latakia.
Pipe-smoking is culture.
Pipes are sometimes pieces of art.
Enjoy pipe-smoking!
GH Bob's Chocolate Flake in my Brigham Algonquin Bulldog #216
http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/...D/IMG_0920.jpg
how does the gh bobs chocolate flake compare to sam gawaiths chocolate flake, or is it pretty much the same stuff.
I've read they are different, but I haven't tried the SG one yet. I plan on doing a side by side (or one after the other) comparison in the near future.
the reason i ask, one of the 2 b&m shops i go to is or has gotten some in, now is that sold as bulk, or am i mistaken
The Bob's is available as bulk and in tins, the SG I've only ever seen in tins.
This evening I tried 4noggins Double Fantasy in my Brigham #224. Nice tobacco with a sort of mocha flavour. Smooth and sweet, not very strong. Quite enjoyable and a great room note (I could even detect it out on the balcony). Not something I'd smoke all the time, but so far I like it more than MacB Cherry Ambrosia.

Billy Budd in a Kaywoodie Flame Grain Meerschaum. The perfect smoke for a dreary rainy evening.
More GH Bob's Chocolate Flake in my Brigham Bent Dublin #446. Rubbed it out a bit and let it dry for about 25 mins and it's been great so far.

A certain well-known auction site. Just search for "Omar King Briar Pipe" or the seller's name "omarking". He has two staggered auctions up at a time, so if you don't like either, check after one auction ends. You won't believe how cheap they are going for.
The maker's name is Eric King but he named the pipes for his dad.
