No pic today. But trying out some G&H scented flake in a la rocca billiard. So far so good. Good nic kick. A little hard to keep lit but probably just needs some drying time

I'm sitting here looking at a mason jar full of G&H Sliced Brown Bogie (also a vitamin N powerbar). Think I might just load up a four digit Kaywoodie with some and adjourn to the lanai with a good book.

Riverboat Gambler was the handwork of my good friend the late great Bob Runowski. It comes fairly close to a sort of English blend but as was Bob's custom has the heavy influence of classic American burley. Good stuff well worth the money.

I'm also impressed with what I've sampled of theirs. Personally I prefer their black twist to the brown because the flavour's a bit more interesting, but they're both nice. Dark plug's a favourite too. My next tobacco order will probably include a couple of samples of their flavoured ropes.

I had possibly the most enjoyable smoking experience to date this morning. I had a bowl of GQ's askwith kake in my dr plumb nose warmer and a raven ale outside in the rain. (I'd just got back from working a night shift, I don't just drink first thing in the morning.) I can sit under the balcony of the apartment upstairs and stay dry, and there was no wind so I could watch the clouds of smoke drift around. So I sat watching the rain falling, the grass growing and the smoke swirling peacefully for half an hour or so and then there was one of the brightest rainbows I'd ever seen. I was enjoying myself so much I followed up with a large bowl of gauntley's celtic twilight. I so wish I could have provided a picture.
