Thanked: 1160Well....it seems Santa still had a package in his bag just for me. Actually...Thank you SpaceMonkeyJon for this awesome gift.a Case pocket knife(too damn awesome) and some wonderful Diebels brand Full English of which I am currently enjoying with this Viking Rustic sitter. Now I am officialy a good ol boy. I like my leatherman but, sometime it's a little much on the hip and I have really been wanting a proper ol pocket knife for a long time. I wanna learn what the specific blade shapes are used for, always been curious bout that? It's a wonderful life !! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year ! Woot ! P.S This Deibels is wonderfully smooth stuff...very nice. ************************************************** ************************************************** ************************************************** ************************************************** *****************

Thanked: 983The little blade on it's lonesome is for castrating and called a castrator blade. The French point looking blade is called a sheep's foot and was generally used for trimming the same, and lastly the big blade is your general purpose sticker, gutter, whittler or what have you in those terms. That style of pocket knife is known here as a Stockman's knife. I have a few in the original Old Timer model. Some have been around for almost as long as me I think. Certainly very well used. And I have one I bought for my own use as well.
