That is a beautiful garden by the way..........
"Black Seas" again in the sand blast. Stuff's pretty good. Not as sweet as "Shortcut to Mushrooms", but still good. Nose warmer claimed the McBarren Ready Rubbed for those who had asked. Thanks guys.
Oh, nothing special. Just some wild flowers to attract de solitary bees, butterflies, ladybugs...
They have it difficult over here to survive due to our modern way of building houses.
So, by offering them a shelter I hope I do my little contribution to help <Mother Nature> a bit.
Chris

Review of Samuel Gawith Bothy Flake (the Kearvaig Pipe Club).
Some say they smell peated whisky, more specific Lagavulin !? I missed the peat, perhaps a lack of imagination, but there's a scent to it that remind me of whisky, that's for sure. Perhaps that's just a +1 for SG.
As always with Samuel Gawith it's to moist fresh out of the tin, so I let it dry for a couple of hours before I cube cut the flake and load the pipe.
It needs a couple of relights but it burns well and delivers a cool smoke with no bite at all . The Virginia plays the first fiddle with the latakia playing in the background. Certainly not a latakia bomb. Compare it a bit to Squadron Leader for the latakia.
I taste the whole bowl something sweet, but not the same thing as with their Celtic Talisman or worse Grousemoor. Not that typical Lakeland smell/taste, something I don't like. Therefore the +1.
Good quality Virginia as usual with SG, a bit more latakia would not hurt but I can live with that. Fine tobacco, glad I bought me 2 tins.
For a moment in my thoughts I was in a bothy somewhere in the Highlands of Scotland after a day backpack hiking enjoying a good dram of Laphroaig with the mates.

Thank you sergeant Matron, thumbs up.
P.S. If you really appreciate Whisky don't smoke it, taste it out of a nosing glass.
Friendly greetings
Chris
I like these posts of your Chris. Puts me in mind of Tom. You might not know Tom, Chris, but he's a nice bloke. Where is Tom these days? Has he disappeared like I did for a while?
Mick
Mick, sir you have paid good attention.
As I said when I joined the forum on 21 of July that I was inspired by the nice pictures of pipes, nature ... then I admit here in front of you all that I was following all of you, but in special 'Sailor' , already for a couple of years . Always loved his nice pictures, his less is more style. A still life of a pipe, his famous pipe stand, tobacco, a bottle of beer and a background and it's telling you a story. On Friday evenings the first thing I did when the PC went on was looking over here if Tom had posted. Please do not compare me with 'Sailor', sir that's to great honor for me. I still have lots to learn. But I always try to do my best, that's the way I've been raised.
'Sailor' or Tom if you read this, thanks for being sort of my mentor, be it in a secret hidden unknown way. I hope you don't mind? Learned a lot from you, still have lots to learn.
Oh, also sorry for my sometimes bad written English to you all.
With friendly greetings
Chris
P.S. Next week I gonna disappear for a while. Last days of the summer holiday and business as usual. Back to work.
