Made another pipe, bent stem, acorn shaped bowl. I need to give it a final buff then burn in test. Maybe I will do that tonight.

Come on, you're just being modest. While I've not heard you speak English, were it not for the location on your avatar, I would have guessed from your writing that you were a native speaker.

Funny thing about use it or loose it. As a young man, my Spanish was quite good. Living in Tampa, I used it often and had a lot of formal training as well. Then I went in the Air Force, went to the Philippines and married a local girl. I learned Tagalog (Filipino) pretty much by emersion (i.e. listening to people speak it in social settings, watching movies in it, and listening to music in Tagalog.) Over the years, it became my default setting for languages other than English.

Some years later, I had occassion to visit Jalisco, Mexico. Not a border town by a long shot, deep, dark, interior Mexico. I dusted off my Spanish and initially, the locals were quite impressed at this Gringo that, unlike most of the older Americans that lived in the area, was able to speak Spanish. In protracted discussions, however I noticed that their initial reaction was a big smile and they were quite excited that I made the first move in THEIR language. As the conversation wore on however, their smiles and enthusiasm was replaced by a look of total confusion. Without knowing it, I would begin statements in Spanish and finish them in Tagalog.
The older I get, the better I was

But I don't like the smell of gas.
Better is a Butan-lighter for pipes or matches.
For outdoor activities it may be work good enough.
